RICHARD COXON
Richard Coxon studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won a number of prizes, including the Clonter Opera Prize, the Ricordi Opera Prize and the Webster Booth/Esso Award. International engagements have included Flute A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Theatre Royal de la Monnaie, Monostatos Die Zauberflöte and Vanya Kudrjash Katya Kabanova for Florida Grand Opera, Gastone La traviata, Bill Flight and Tisiphone Hippolyte et Aricie for the Nationale Reisoper, ‘The Worker’ La Vida Breve for the Greek National Opera, Nemorino for Opera Zuid, Vanya Kudrjash Katya Kabanoa for the Opéra de Montréal, Tom Rakewell The Rake’s Progress for New Israeli Opera, Lieutenant Bonnet War and Peace and the Italian Tenor Der Rosenkavalier at the Spoleto Festival. Richard Coxon has performed concerts with the Bergen Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra Orchestra, , BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, the Hallé Orchestra, London Medici, Manchester Camerata, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Richard Coxon’s concert repertoire includes Beethoven Missa Solemnis, Messiah, Elijah, Dvorak Stabat Mater, Rossini Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Mendelssohn St Paul and Verdi Requiem. Richard Coxon’s recordings include Squeak Billy Budd, Lieutenant Bonnet War and Peace and Mr By-Ends The Pilgrim’s Progress for Chandos and Lucifer/Satan in Stravinsky’s The Flood for 20th Century Classics. He took the role of Sam in Don Boyd’s film Lucia and is the voice of Dashwood Fox in Geoff Dunbar’s animated version of The Cunning Little Vixen Roles on television have included the role of The Vain Man The Little Prince for BBC Television, directed by Francesca Zambello, and Guido Buzz on the Moon which was commissioned from Jonathan Dove for Channel 4 Television.
